Joe Shields is no longer the head of senior recruitment at Southampton, confirms Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Shields move to Chelsea as their new director of recruitment is a done deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Saints coach said: “Shields came in August and he left in October. It’s not a big loss for this club because the impact he had in the six weeks was not the biggest.
“We are not in the situation where we fall into depression. He was not the person who brought Romeo Lavia in.
“We would like to have people here for longer but it’s better he leaves immediately.”
“I don’t have a lot of contact with him or touch with him because the transfer window is over and it is not the moment to speak about transfers until next January,” Hasenhuttl added.
