Watford have appointed Slaven Bilic as their new head coach.
The Croatian tactician joins on an 18-month contract and will replace Rob Edwards, who was earlier sacked after 10 championship games in charge.
Bilic previously coached West Ham and West Brom, leading the latter to a promotion to the Premier League on July 22nd 2020.
On appointing Bilic, Watford owner Gino Pozzo said he believes the appointment is in the best interests of the club.
“We felt Rob had enough time to show us the identity of his team, however performances haven’t reflected our hopes and ambitions.
“Now we must move forward, and, in Slaven Bilić, we have secured the services of an experienced coach who has recent experience of promotion to the Premier League.”
Bilic becomes the fourth Watford manager in 2022 and will now look to guide them back to the Premier League.
His first game will be away against Stoke City on October 2nd.
