Curtis Jones signs new contract extension with Liverpool

Liverpool have announced that midfielder Curtis Jones has signed a new long-term contract extension at the club.

Jones, who came through The Reds academy has played four times in the Premier League this term.

The 21-year-old said he is over the moon after putting pen to paper.

“First of all, I want to thank the coaching staff for having the belief in me as always, for giving me the chance.”

Jones said it was very easy to extend his stay at Anfield because he believes it’s the perfect place for his development.

“It’s my boyhood club, I’m a Scouser, I’ve supported the club for the whole of my life, so yeah, I’m buzzing and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

He continued: “For everything, really. I think if I was at a different club as well, my goal and aim and dream would always be to come here and play.

“But I’m here now, I’ve been here since I was six, I’ve gone all the way through.

“I’ve supported the team for the whole of my life and especially now with how the team is and the coaching staff around me.”

The England U21 international, since making his senior appearance in 2019 for Liverpool has played 81 times, scoring 8 goals and providing 8 assists.

Curtis Jones has won the Premier League title, the FA Cup, the League Cup, and a Community Shield.
