Kylian Mbappe is not happy with PSG and has asked to leave the club in the January transfer window, according to reports in France.
The 2018 World Cup winner with France wants to leave the French capital as soon as possible, reports RMC Sport.
The 23-year-old feels betrayed by the club management after he believes promises made to him in the summer were not kept.
According to reports, Mbappe was promised he would play with a Number 9 next to him in attack and who could play as a pivot, but the club failed to honour the said promise.
The club also promised Mbappe to buy a new centre-back in the summer, but also failed in their pursuit.
The friendship Mbappe and Neymar had have also deteriorated with the duo clashing in August over a penalty kick during PSG’s 5-2 win against Montpellier.
In May, Mbappe became the highest paid footballer in the world when he signed a three-year deal worth almost £1m a week following reports he would join Real Madrid as a free agent.
But, L’Equipe reported that the Mbappe contract is only for two years with the option of a third year at the hands of the forward.
PSG football advisor and Chelsea-linked Luis Campos, who replaced sporting director Leonardo is also expected to leave after falling out with director of football Antero Henrique and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, according to Le Parisien.
PSG head coach Christophe Galtier said on Monday that he is trying to reassure Mbappe by finding different options.
“I don’t know what the club told him before I arrived in the summer, but we are very sensitive as to how he feels and what he says because he is a very important player for the team,” Galtier added.
Kylian Mbappe has said in the past that he enjoys his football more in the France national team than at PSG, citing his preference for a two-man attack like the one he enjoys in the France national team with Karim Benzema.
